ARCHITECT

Mark Derr, AIA is a Madison, Wisconsin-based architect who has a significant depth of commercial and residential experience. His work has been noted by the Governor of Wisconsin. He has visited Lake of the Dells many times to appreciate its natural contours and view sheds, and to contextualize his designs on the property.

Mr. Derr has described his approach to Lake of the Dells as "a creative response to one of the most spectacular building sites I have ever seen, which weaves interior, view-driven spaces and natural materials into architectural forms that mutually enhance the harmonious concepts of waterside tranquility and woodland privacy."

BUILDER

Connery Construction is a family-owned general contractor that was established in Madison, Wisconsin in 1970 by Tim and Richard Connery. When Richard retired in 1985, Tim's wife Randy joined him as an owner. In 1999, Connery Construction moved to the nearby town of Cottage Grove, with its small town atmosphere and easy access to I-90 and I-94. It is a medium-sized firm that specializes in commercial and quality residential construction.

Connery Construction typically performs demolition, earthwork, concrete foundations, concrete flatwork, steel erection, rough carpentry and finish carpentry work. By performing these major categories of work, Connery Construction maintains stringent control over the progress and quality of their projects. Connery Construction hires only established and reputable subcontractors with proven track records for on-time and on-budget performance, generally preferring local companies.

Connery Construction is very proud that ninety percent of their work is negotiated repeat business. They encourage owners to be a part of the subcontractor negotiations. All work they perform is done "open book," and they provide whatever information, access, and backup owners may require.
