My wife and I are from suburban Chicago and we spent two years searching for the ideal property at which to reside in the Wisconsin Dells region. We inspected every available residential community in the area and we reached the conclusion that the Lake of the Dells (LOD) community was by far the most desirable in the area. We have never regretted our decision. As a matter of fact, we were so pleased with LOD, that after two years in our new LOD condo; we sold it (in under two months) for a nice profit, and just finished building a beautiful, country home on the premises.

The 190-acre Lake of the Dells community has everything that we wanted: A private, secluded, quiet, gated community; dense forested areas; miles of scenic paths and trails; beautiful rolling meadows; a long shoreline and beach area on the very scenic Upper Dells Wisconsin River; great fishing; private boat docks; a secure, outdoor, fenced boat storage area; swimming pool & hot-tub; club-house with kitchen, meeting space, and workout equipment; tennis courts; softball area; friendly neighbors; and not (problematic) rental units to deal with.

Moreover, five miles to the south we have all of the attractions and amenities of the Wisconsin Dells premier Mid-west vacationland, to the north we have Castle Rock Lake, the fourth largest lake in Wisconsin, and to the east and west we have the best of rural Wisconsin. In short, our vacation home at LOD provides us the best of all worlds to escape to and we found LOD to be pet-friendly, which is very important to us and our two dogs, Blondie (Yellow Lab) and Lucy (Chihuahua).

One final comment - the friendly, experienced, skillful, and knowledgeable LOD management and staff ensure that the property is well-maintained. We only have to do a minimum of property upkeep when we come up for the weekend, holidays, and/or summer. Moreover, the monthly association fees are among the lowest in the area. The pace of development in the LOD community is slow, controlled, spread out, and well-planned - no overbuilding here. This, we believe, will help ensure that the beauty that is the Lake of the Dells is preserved.

We purchased our Lake of the Dells condo in May 2006 and have enjoyed the fact that there is, and always will be, much forest covered land and close proximity to the Wisconsin River. We enjoy having our pontoon boat at a Lake of the Dells slip, just a short walk from our condo.

We have Wisconsin Dells address, but are about 5 mile outside the Dells, which gives us the chance to go into the Dells for attractions and dining when we choose, yet live in a peaceful and tranquil setting.

We enjoy the 192 acres of forest and blacktopped roads, where we can ride our bikes, golf cart rides and take walks.

We also enjoy the Lake of the Dells clubhouse with ping pong, pool, exercise room and swimming pool.

Our children and grandchildren also enjoy spending time at Lake of the Dells. They enjoy the "wide open space" and having a nice big pool with plenty of poolside room to sit and relax.

We are Florida residents for 6 months of the year (Nov - April), but certainly enjoy Lake of the Dells the other six months.

Best kept secret in the Dells! Beautiful & peaceful surrounding, river access. Great Location. High quality construction. No rentals. Only a few miles from the hustle and bustle of the Dells but once you drive in the gate you are in a different world. Close to all the attractions. Great place to entertain family members of all ages. Wonderful place for nature lovers.

We have chosen Lake of the Dells to be our year-round home and have just completed our first year. The beauty of Lake of the Dells is seen in each of the seasons. Walking through the forest, we have seen the snow beautifully hanging from the trees and have had deer running before us. The abundance of wildflowers is seen each spring. Summer brings wonderful families enjoying the pool, the grounds and beach, and the river. Fall is spectacular with color. The natural beauty, the soaring cliffs along the river and the great people confirm our choice for retirement. We enjoy the family-friendly environment, our privacy when we so desire, and the close proximity to good restaurants and entertainment.

We feel so fortunate to live surrounded by the serenity of the woods and the nature that abides so close to us. The river ensures us constant entertainment, incredible sunsets and lazy summer days on our boat. Our grandchildren think coming here, fishing in the river, swimming in the pool, feeding the birds and watching the deer is more fun than going to Disney World. What more could grandparents ask for?

Nancy and I had owned 4 different vacation homes in Wisconsin prior to locating the L.O.D. development; we actually owned a log home in the Dells when we first made the decision to call L.O.D. our new home. We were one of the original purchasers at L.O.D. after following its progression for about one and one half years. We researched fairly intensely and determined that L.O.D. had all of the attributes we were looking for….pricing/quality construction/flexibility of design changes. Proximity to the Dells but away from the noise and crowds/restaurant choices/reasonable access to home (Barrington)/open spaces and wildlife/marina facilities/fishing/swimming pools and all other amenities that we and our kids & grandkids could ask for under one master plan. We are now in our second townhome in LOD (sold the first with appreciation) and plan to someday make it our primary residence. We would not think of going anywhere else and are certain this was the right decision for us and our family……..Thanks L.O.D.
